Construction of new substructure and floor-slabs to facilitate the installation of a new production line.

 

RACKs package included concrete slabs, upper floors package and drainage. Attenuation, and the creation of the car parks to accommodate increased personnel subsequently created by the new line. 

 

 

 

To accommodate a large privately owned fleet of delivery vehicles almost 2 acres of the site was given over to concrete yard areas, whilst precast perimeter walls and dock levellers were utilised to reduce programme. Internally polyurethane resin floors and Isoclad panelling ensured food preparation hygiene requirements were met. Extensive car parking, vehicle washing, and Biofuel storage facilities completed this modern production facility, and the site was required to remain nut and animal product free as part of the construction process. On this project most of the equipment was either electric or fuelled with HVO.

The project included extensive consideration of working around existing services, robust planning to work around closedowns and building to a high specification in a safety critical environment. For planning permission purposes, the project was a traditional brick and block structure with a high degree of fire resistance, but incorporated contractor design portions for blast proofing, anti-terror security. Integrated data systems were consideration within the design.

 

 

Self-Delivering but working as main contractor RACK successfully completed the construction of a traditional sub-station to facilitate the housing of transformers, switching and stepping down of a HV supply to 240v AC to supply offices and a workshop lighting to the facility along with ducting, cable pulling and installation of data systems, alarms and emergency override systems.

MKM Berwick Upon Tweed

Working in partnership with MKM, Rack completed a hard landscaping display area to demonstrate the range of quality paving products sell to both trade and Public. 

Rack were selected to carryout all works to the existing carpark and hard landscaped areas to complete high specification, sales driven point of sale displays consisting of over 30 different block paving solutions, porcelains, conrcete pavers, concrete imprints and gravel areas. The project also included ductwork for lighting bollards, a new watermain to the extended unit, wall construction, external brickwork cladding and astro-turf customer break out area.
